Congratulations to all the players selected in the 2008 OHL Priority Draft from our 1992 Minor Midget program. This year 4 players from the Jr Knights were selected in the draft. Pieter Schinkelshoek (C) was selected in the 2nd round by the Ottawa 67s.

Please be advised that players from the London Junior Knights born in 1991, 1992 or 1993 require an authorized (signed) permission to skate (PTS) from the Junior Knights. Woodstock, ON - ALLIANCE Hockey held its annual Under 17 Camp this past weekend in order to identify the top Minor Midget aged players who participate within the ALLIANCE. All participating players had to be born in 1992 and exhibit outstanding playing abilities, excellent sportsmanship and have an overall passion for the game of hockey.
The Jr Knights would like congratulate Pieter Schinkelshoek on being named to the team and his teammates Alex Sworik & Scott Mitchell who were named as alternates.

The London Jr. Knights are pleased to announce the introduction of a new, online Tryout Registration system for the 2008-2009 season.

The London Jr. Knights Goaltender Development program has finished for the 2007/2008 season. The program ran from October through to February allowing for each age group to attend three sessions during their season. Each session provided Jr. Knight Goalies the opportunity to fine tune their skills in a goalie specific environment.

The London Junior Knights Board of Directors announced that tryouts for the 2008-2009 season will begin on August 16th, 2008 with the exception of the Midget program, which will begin on September 9th, 2008.
The London Junior Knights will not be conducting any spring tryouts or assessments next season.

London, Ont. The Junior Knights Earlybird Tournament which ran from September 21st-23rd 2007 at the Western Fair showcased 52 teams in four divisions ranging from Minor Atom to Major Pee Wee AAA.

The Junior Knights team rosters were officially completed September 23rd with the selection of the Midget AA team. The Jr Knights will again be icing 22 teams in the Alliance this season, 8 at AAA and 14 at AA.

Congratulations to the players drafted into the OHL from our 1991 Minor Midget program. The players were among 48 others drafted from Alliance Hockey.

The London Jr Knights Annual General Meeting was held on Saturday May the 5th at 9am at the Western Fair.

The Atom AAA Jr Knights were silver medalists at the OHF championship in London, Ont. The Championship featured five top Atom AAA teams (London, Elgin Middlesex, Toronto Marlboros, York Simcoe Express and the Peterborough Petes). The Jr Knights were the host team.

The August tryout dates have now been posted in the downloads section of the website. The AA tryouts will commence August 15th and run to August 30th at Western Fair Sports Complex. Spring Tryouts commence in a week, April 16th and run to May 10th.

2006 /2007 was a banner season for the Junior Knights. The rep program had 10 teams finish first in their division, 6 teams finish 2nd, 9 teams win the Alliance Playoff Championship, 1 Alliance Playdown Champion, 6 playoff finalists and 5 teams headed to the OHF Championships.

Both the Major Peewee AA Gold (1994) team and the Bantam AA Green (92) have qualified for the OHF provincial championships.

On Sunday, the AA Major Atom (1996) London Junior Knights (Green) hockey team captured the Alliance Championship (Constellation division) by beating the Junior Knights Gold team, 4-3, to win the best 4 of 7 finals 4 games to 1.

The Jr Knights would like to announce the AAA coaches for the upcoming 2007-08 season. We would like to thank all current coaches for their contirbution and dedictation to our program over the past year and welcome aboard some new faces.
AA coaches will not be announce at this time as we are now working through the applications. The AA coaches will be named at a later date in April.

The Junior Knights have finalized the registration dates and location for the 2007 season. All registration sessions will be held at Pete's Sports, located on Oxford Street in London. The dates are March 31st, April 1st and April 4th.

Congratulations to Nazim Kadri and Cody Lindsay, former London Jr Knights on their Gold medal win at the Canada Winter Games, in the Yukon. Steven Stamkos of the Sarnia Sting scored a goal and two assists to lead Ontario's Under-17 Team to a 6-4 win over Manitoba in the gold medal game of the Canada Winter Games in Whitehorse, Yukon on Friday.

The London Junior Knights will be holding spring tryouts for our Minor Atom to Minor Midget AAA teams for the 2007–2008 season. All AA team tryouts (except Midget) will continue to be held in August. The Midget tryouts will commence in September. The AAA tryout dates have been set for April 16th to May 10th, 2007.

The London Jr Knights Midget AAA captured the 2006-2007 International Silverstick Championship.

The Government of Canada has proposed to allow, starting in 2007, a non-refundable tax credit on eligible amounts of up to $500 paid by parents to register a child in an eligible program of physical activity. Our program satisfies the criteria for this credit.

The London Jr Knights Midget AAA team coached by Chuck Dufton saw their first tournament action of the year last weekend (Oct 13-15) when they visited Welland. They participated in the inaugural Welland Top Shelf Midget AAA Showcase and came away victorious.

The London Junior Knights have ben awarded the honour of hosting the 2007 Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) Atom AAA Championship. The Championship will be held April 13th to 15th 2007 at the Olympic Bowl, Western Fair Sports Centre.

We were advised late last week by the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) that they considered our spring skates to be the start of AAA tryouts. OHF regulations indicate that AAA player cards must be offered within 30 days of the start of AAA tryouts. We tried to explain that these spring times were optional and that we didn’t consider them to be tryouts but the OHF would not change their interpretation.
