Minor Atom AA Wins Silver Stick Regional in Stratford

Tuesday, January 19, 2010

The Minor Atom AA squad won a big victory at the Silver Stick Regional in Stratford. The first two games we competed very hard, especially in five of the six periods. If we can carry that level of play to our league games there would be no stopping us. The competition was very good, but we proved we can play at that level, we did not look out of place. Though I would like to play the last game over, we came out flat and uninspired. That should show you as players we can't lose our focus, not even for a shift. As players you have to want to get better so challenge yourself in practice and in games. Good players can become great players - be that player. Overall, I think the kids had fun, on and off the ice, thanks to Gibby for making a lot of the arrangements ... he might want to invest in a new GPS. The pizza party was great and thanks to the McAlpine's for the cake. Thanks to all the parents and grandparents for their support. Congrats to Keegan's grandmother for winning the mini stick shootout.
