Midget AAA's Silverstick Champions

The Jr Knights opened the the tournament with a slim 1-0 win over Shattuck St Marys from Fairfault Minnesota. Chris MacKay's team leading 38th goal of the season early in the 2nd period proved to be the winner. Connor Lyons played well when he was challenged securing his 6th shutout and 25th win of the season. The following day the Jr knights defeated their league rivals the Huron Perth Lakers 5-2. They won their final round robin game 3-1 to place first in the round robin.

The Jr Knights met the Windsor Jr Spitfires once again in the first semi final. The Jr Knights and Windsor traded goals in the first for a 1-1 score after one period. After that it was all London as theyscored 5 unanswered goals to win 6-1 and move to a 6th straight tournament final.

In the Championship Game the Jr Knights and the Markham Waxers played to a scoreless first period before Steve Sanza and Fiore Lucente of the Waxers traded goals in the second to send the game to the third period at 1-1. The Waxers got into some penalty trouble and Matt Sherry took advantage and potted the eventual game winner as the Jr Knights won 2-1 and were crowned 2007 Midget AAA Silverstick Champions. Adam Hickey, Connor Lyons and Matt Sherry were named to the International Allstar Team. The Midget Jr Knights have competed in 6 tournaments this season and completed and unbelievable streak as they managed to compete for the Championship in all 6 winning 4.

THE HOCKEY HALL OF FAME The International Silver Stick® Association™ has been honoured by having a display in the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto since 1982 thanks to Silver Stick® Honourary Life Member, Mr. Bill Glover. The original Silver Stick® Trophy used in 1958 and Mr. Kinsella's green blazer, the traditional blazer worn by all directors, is on display in the Hockey Hall of Fame's North American Amateur hockey collection. The Hall of Fame is located at BCE Place, 30 Yonge St. Toronto, Ontario. Each year, after all the Silver Stick® Finals Tournaments are completed, a plaque is placed in the Hall of Fame display case listing all the Championship Team Names (not player names) for that year.
